Soft Skills? Call Them 'Human API'

Technical skills have a half-life of about 18 months. The code you learn today will be automated tomorrow. The software you master will be obsolete next year.
But 'Soft Skills', a terrible name for the hardest skills, are antifragile. Empathy, negotiation, leadership, storytelling, conflict resolution. These are the 'Human APIs' that allow you to connect disparate systems and people.
As AI drives the cost of technical execution to zero, the value of human coordination goes to infinity. The person who can code is valuable. The person who can convince 10 people to align on a vision is invaluable.
Do not neglect your social firmware. Read psychology, not just manuals. Learn to speak in public. Learn to write persuasively. These are the only moats left in the age of synthetic intelligence.
